Resource Library Coordinator for accomplished interior design firm
Chicago, IL  60613

The resource library is the heartbeat of our design firm -- every project and every designer relies on the resource library for inspiration, samples, information, and pricing. Keeping those resources organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible is key to our ability to successfully execute projects.

If this sounds interesting make sure that you are:

  • Organized and neat

  • Efficient at managing multiple priorities with different people in tight time frames.

  • Comfortable communicating inside and outside the company via email, phone or face-to-face.

  • Knowledgeable about materials and resources for interiors projects.

  • Tenacious in research, digging until you find that perfect resource that makes a job.

  • A degreed interiors designer with a working knowledge of AUTOCAD, and MS Office (including Outlook).

Everyday will be different as you coordinate visits from FF&E reps, research new materials or sources, work with designers as they pull samples for a job, review the sources in the library to make sure they are up-to-date and well organized, order samples for ongoing projects, and keep the library area neat and organized through it all. You can see why organization and attention to detail are essential. You must be able to build relationships with reps and sources so that they will move heaven and earth for our projects. While working with 6 - 8 design teams, priorities may shift quickly; you need to shift with them.

This position does NOT have design responsibilities but successful candidates could transition into a design role from this position. Alternatively, it’s perfect for a seasoned designer who is re-entering the workforce but not interested in actively designing.

Mary Cook Associates was founded in 1986 to provide the highest quality interior design services to hospitality, golf, and recreation properties as well as the nation’s largest developers. The firm is known for its ability to combine high quality execution (with a deep understanding of demographic, geographic and historical influences) to create boldly diverse looks specific to the needs of our clients.

We will offer $35K - $40K to the right candidate along with with health insurance, paid holidays and 401K.
