This position will be responsible for machine setup and operation, die setting ability, math skills and basic machine knowledge.  The right candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of machine setup and operation experience, experience in a manufacturing environment and a working knowledge of industry standards relating to quality systems and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Work hours are 7:00a.m. - 3:30p.m., Monday – Friday, plus overtime as needed.
 
  • Setup and operate fabricating machines, including but not limited to; drill press, brake press, punch press, shear, and saw.
  • Ensure proper setup for each job based on information contained in shop pack including; cover worksheet, bill of material, engineering print, setup worksheet and quality worksheet.
  • Read and work from engineering prints, use caliper and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of work.
  • Perform setup and quality checks.  Complete sign off worksheets to ensure accuracy of work.
  • Meet efficiency goals and contribute to implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
 
Qualifications Include:
 
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with others to foster a positive work environment.
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of three years setup and machine operation experience.
  • Experience working with aluminum extrusions. 
  • Ability to read and work from engineering prints.
  • Proficient in metrology and the use of various inspection devices.
  • Experience in a production environment with a good working knowledge of manufacturing industry standards.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and to use hands and arms to move parts.  The employee is frequently required to walk, and is occasionally required to stoop or kneel.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  Ear protection is required where designated.
