Job Summary:

The Associate Field Marketing Manager (AFMM) leads the development, localization, implementation and evaluation of local brand consumer activation programs and maximizes growth, trial, awareness, and brand equity, consistent with national brand strategy within assigned Division Priority markets. His/her goal is to accelerate value share growth where significant geographic, consumer, and/or portfolio opportunities exist.  The AFMM serves as the consumer marketing brand leader within the division and the division champion to the national brand team. This position manages a Greenhouse Agency Brand Champion, third party agencies, and Brand Ambassadors, where applicable.
 
Primary Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Serves as the consumer marketing brand leader within the division and the division champion to the national brand team
    • Communicates the brands’ consumer marketing and messaging to the division’s local sales leadership
    • Leads the development of the Divisional Consumer Marketing plan including resource allocation and local promotional strategies to translate the national brand plan into a regional brand plan, with a common format/approach used across the group
    • Presents his/her brand plans annually to division and brand leadership
    • Applies local market insights that help identify how and where to best interact with the brands’ target consumer
  • Manages a Greenhouse Brand Champion to ensure local executions are on strategy, focused against the right consumer opportunities and accelerating the overall business for our Brands
  • Provides leadership and direction to agencies/distributor contacts involved with local consumer marketing activities
  • Directs the planning, implementation and evaluation of agency resources
  • Partners with the key market stakeholders to ensure sufficient materials to support key programs and the regional brand plan, aligned with brand initiatives
  • Shares relevant insights across the division and informs the national brand team of important trends
  • Champions brand building by providing brand/category/portfolio expertise and  brand education training
  • Seeks opportunities to encourage trial and adoption with the brands’ target consumer within Priority markets and within the brands’ strategic pillars. This will include unique local consumer facing promotions, Social and Digital media, local media, key influencer/bartender events and sponsorships
    • Works with legal team to ensure that programming complies with all state and local laws
    • Identifies, implements, and ensures the proper execution of relevant events and sponsorships
    • Establishes relevant partnerships that will improve the overall market plan
    • Works with Brand and Brown-Forman media to identify and implement local media plans
    • Localizes national platforms and programs within Priority markets.  Customizes the national promotion platform to be more relevant to local market trends and nuances
    • Provides input into local resource allocation decisions and manages local consumer marketing funds (sponsorships, local media, consumer focused tastings, brand events)
    • Evaluates the brands’ consumer marketing programs and initiatives:
      • Makes recommendations for program spending and evaluation including report outs to reporting managers
      • Provides program and initiative recommendations for continuation, adjustments or discontinuation

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree  plus 2 - 5 years of Sales, Marketing, or Field Marketing experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent strategic and tactical skills: demonstrated ability to implement and adapt national programs to the field
  • Willingness to travel approximately 35-50%, and ability to work nights and weekends as required
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all members of extended brand teams
  • Sound financial skills:  demonstrated ability to create, control, and maintain financial and/or business analyses, including budgets

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to drive/travel through market area
 
Additional Comments:
This is a full-time position based on an annual contract with the client.
 
Position Financials:
Base Salary: $ 60,000 - $ 80,000
Bonus Opportunity: $ 12,000
Communication Allowance: $ 2,400
Auto Allowance: $ 7,200
