
VENTOWER Industries, LLC (www.ventower.com) is hiring Welder/Fabricators. We prefer to hire candidates that are experienced and proficient in the manufacture of utility scale steel towers. VENTOWER is a full service fabricator and supplier of utility scale, wind turbine towers. Our brand new, state of the art facility is equipped with the most technologically advanced fabrication and industrial coating equipment. We continue to ramp up from initial production and will soon fully staff a second shift. When we reach full capacity we will run 3 shifts with about 200 employees and deliver several hundred tower sections per year. As we grow, there will be opportunity for advancement through demonstrated leadership and training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited, to the following:

Welding with .052” flux core and 1/16” metal core.

Working in tight corners.

Standing, bending, stooping for long periods of time and the ability to work in confined spaces.

Welding and fitting of tower sections as needed for production.

Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to repair welds or place functional cosmetic attachments.

Operate manual, semi-automatic or automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, and sub arc welding.

Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid the overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material.

Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.

Recognize, set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.

Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.

Grind off excess weld, slag or spatter, using portable grinders or arc-cutting equipment.

Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly and welding operations.

Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.

Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.

Position and secure work pieces using hoists, cranes or hand tools.
Requirements:

Employee must provide own steel toed shoes.

Candidates must pass a background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
Education and/or Experience:
Two years of welding experience, completion of an accredited two-year welder’s training program or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. A combination of experience, training and/or education may be used as an appropriate substitute.
