Ventower (www.ventower.com) is hiring Machine Operators with experience utilizing a variety of manufacturing equipment. We prefer to hire Michigan state residents with special consideration given to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Ventower Industries is a full service fabricator and supplier of utility scale, wind turbine towers. Our brand new, state of the art facility is equipped with the most technologically advanced fabrication equipment. We are ramping up from the prototype phase into full production, with our first delivery scheduled for early 2012. When we reach full capacity we will run 3 shifts with about 200 employees and deliver several hundred towers per year. As we grow, there will be opportunity for advancement through demonstrated leadership and training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited, to the following:

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment.

Able to follow written work instructions, job routers and other internal procedures.

Safely manipulate work pieces in order to carry out appropriate work instructions.

Must recognize out of tolerance conditions and be able to make appropriate adjustments.

Inspect work pieces to ensure all measurable attributes are within tolerance.

Assure work pieces are ready for the next operation in the process.

Clean and maintain workstation as appropriate.

Use proper technique when lifting parts and positioning machining equipment.

Responsible for safety, quality and production goals.

Able to understand safety, quality and production procedures.

Communicate safety, quality and production standards to team members when necessary.

Practical math to accurately complete daily machine reports.

Basic geometry to understand machining concepts and making appropriate adjustments.

Capable of lifting materials that weigh 35 - 45 lbs. on a continuous basis and up to 50 lbs. on occasion.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Make minor machine repairs and adjustments with appropriate assistance.

Ensure all safety and maintenance procedures are followed.

Requirements:

Employee must provide own steel toed shoes.

Candidates must pass a background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Education and/or Experience:
A minimum of two years machining experience, preferably performing your own setups and adjustments. Ideal candidates will have experience with CNC equipment or interactive touch screens. A combination of experience, training and/or education may be used as an appropriate substitute.
